Week Eight

We had a busy week in Kindergarten learning about the ‘G g’ phonic sound and numbers 1 - 10. Our visit from Constable Care was also a big success! It was lovely to see the children so engaged. Learning with puppets was so much fun. We also managed to get to and from the performance without getting wet!
Literacy
Our letter for next week is the ‘H h’phonic sound. We are focusing on the short initial sound only, as in hat and hot. We are continuing to explore syllables, rhyme and sight words. Please remember to pack the brain cards so that we can review sounds and add new sounds.
Numeracy
Next week we are reviewing the numbers 1 - 10. The children will continue focusing on orally counting in order starting at one. They will also be showing the numbers on their fingers in a variety of ways and making small collections of various objects.
Science
Next week we will be taking a closer look at the weather and the types of clothing we would wear if it were hot or cold. We will be asking the children to sort clothing into the seasons winter and summer. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore different vocabulary.
