Week One

Welcome back to all Kindergarten children and families. It is lovely to see all the smiling faces return to school. We hope you have all had a wonderful break and are looking forward to another exciting term.
Literacy
Our letter for this week is the ‘N n’ phonic sound. We are focusing on the short initial sound only as in nest starts with n, n, n.
Numeracy
This week we are reviewing numbers 1 to 10. We are continuing to find missing numbers on a number line. For example, what number comes before 3 or what number comes after 6?

Wildlife Incursion

This week Kindergarten children had an exciting encounter with some Australian Animals. Our hosts from Oz Wildlife surprised us with a koala, a joey, snakes and lizards. The children discussed the behaviours of the animals and how to stay safe when interacting with them. The children were able to touch all the animals that visited us. They were very excited to get up close to them and had some great questions to share. They were brave, listened carefully and enjoyed a very interactive experience with some beautiful Australian Animals. We are extremely proud of our Kindergarten children.
